Terms and Conditions ProSECURE

These terms and conditions apply to ProSECURE, ProDVX's ProDVX’s industry-leading efforts to deliver superior device security.

1. What is ProSecure?

ProSecure is a free value-added service by ProDVX that provides extended support for Android versions (does not apply to Debian) running on eligible devices after official support from Google has ended. It ensures that even after Google sunsets an Android version, ProDVX customers continue to receive a level of ongoing security and firmware support for their devices.

2. Lifecycle of Android Support

ProDVX defines two key support statuses for Android versions:

  • Live OS: An Android version that is still actively supported by Google. Devices running a Live OS are eligible for regular security patching and firmware updates via ProDVX, typically on a bi-yearly basis.
  • ProSecure OS: Once Google officially sunsets an Android version, ProDVX may continue to support that version under the ProSecure framework for up to three (3) additional years, provided the device runs ProDVX-certified firmware and CVE solutions are available.
  • EOL: The Android version is no longer supported by Google nor by ProDVX. Devices running an EOL OS will not receive any further updates from ProDVX. Customers may continue to operate their devices at their own discretion, but ProDVX makes no guarantees regarding performance, security, or compatibility.

3. What ProSecure Covers

For Android versions in ProSecure status:

  • Devices will receive bi-annual firmware updates from ProDVX.
  • Security patches will be included based on severity, criticality of affected components, and availability of patches within the broader Android ecosystem (AOSP or chipset vendor updates).
  • All updates are provided on a best-effort basis and are subject to technical feasibility and ongoing hardware support.

4. Important Limitations

  • No guarantees are made regarding the availability, frequency, or content of updates provided under ProSecure.
  • OS upgrades to newer Android versions are not guaranteed and depend on chipset vendor support and device capabilities.
  • Firmware and security patch delivery is available only for devices running official ProDVX firmware.
  • Custom or rooted devices are not eligible for support under ProSecure.

5. Checking OS Support Status

ProDVX maintains a live overview of Android OS support statuses on our public OS portal:

  • OS versions marked as Live are fully supported with bi-monthly updates.
  • OS versions marked as ProSecure are no longer supported by Google but still receive limited support from ProDVX.
  • OS versions marked as EOL (End of Life) are no longer supported by ProDVX.

6. Service Scope & Access

  • ProSecure is automatically available for eligible ProDVX Android devices (typically R23 series and newer).
  • Devices must be provisioned via ProMGR and connected to the internet to receive updates.
  • No subscription or payment is required.

7. Data & Privacy

  • ProDVX does not collect personal data as part of ProSecure.
  • Diagnostic and firmware status data may be collected anonymously to improve device and update performance.
  • Data handling practices comply with GDPR and applicable privacy laws.

8. Disclaimer

  • ProSecure is provided free of charge and as-is, without warranty or guarantee of update timelines or coverage.
  • Update delivery may be affected by third-party constraints, including chipset vendors, open-source contributions, and ecosystem support.
  • Support and patching decisions are made at the sole discretion of ProDVX based on risk, feasibility, and impact.
