ProDVX control panels support room and AV control at Hotel Senator
In hospitality, every room needs to feel right for the person using it. This story, originally featured in AV Integracje magazine, shows how that principle played out at Hotel Senator.
A hotel guest wants comfort and convenience. Hotel staff need clear information and smooth workflows. Event organizers want a conference room that is ready for their programme. Speakers and business guests expect the technology to work without delay.
For Hotel Senator 4* in Dźwirzyn, part of the Hotele Nadmorskie Group, this created an important question: how do you make rooms more adaptable to different users, without making the technology harder to operate?
The hotel group was looking for a solution that could support both guest comfort and professional events in a smooth, intuitive way. To achieve this, they worked together with integrator Merizon and technology partner SimpleAV to design a setup that matched the daily reality of the hotel.
Facing the challenge: giving every user the right control, without adding complexity
Hotel Senator serves many different users, often at the same time.
A hotel guest may want to adjust the room climate or send a service request. Housekeeping needs clear information to organise daily work. Event organisers need a conference room that can be prepared quickly for different types of meetings. Speakers and business guests expect lighting, sound and presentation systems to work without technical explanations.
The challenge was not simply to add more technology.
The challenge was to make each room respond better to the needs of the person using it, while keeping the control experience simple enough for everyday use.
Conference room AV control: adapting to different room setups
This was especially important in the hotel’s conference environment. The Horyzont room is a large modular event space of 625 m², suitable for up to 600 participants. It can be used as one large conference room, as three separate rooms or in a combined configuration. That flexibility is valuable, but it also makes control more complex. Projection, lighting, sound and signal routing all need to adapt to the current room setup.
Guest room control: making comfort and service functions accessible
At the same time, the hotel rooms had their own requirements. Guests needed an easy way to interact with room comfort and service functions, without depending on separate systems or staff assistance for every request.
So the core question became:
How do you give guests, staff and event users the control they need, while keeping the experience intuitive, consistent and easy to operate?
The solution: one clear touchpoint for different room experiences
To make that possible, Hotel Senator needed a control interface that could bring different room functions together without exposing users to the complexity behind them.
Together with Merizon and SimpleAV, the hotel implemented ProDVX APPC-10XP panels as dedicated touch interfaces across the hotel environment. The panels give guests, staff and event room users one recognisable point of control, while allowing the underlying systems to respond to different room setups and use cases.
Across the Hotele Nadmorskie hotel group, more than 300 ProDVX panels were installed. The panels support two main control panel applications: guest room control and conference room AV control.
Guest room control: climate settings and service messages
In the hotel’s more high-end guest rooms, the panels are connected to an external hotel application. Guests can use them to control climate settings and send service-related messages to staff, such as do not disturb, room cleaning requests or a notification that a pet is present in the room.
Conference room AV control: projectors, lighting, volume and signal routing
In the conference environment, the ProDVX panels run the Atlona Velocity control interface, allowing users to manage room functions such as projector operation, projector lifts, lighting, volume and signal routing from one clear interface. The underlying AV system can remain advanced, while the user interaction stays simple and intuitive.

In the guest rooms, the panels give users a simple way to control room comfort and service functions from one dedicated interface.
Easier control of flexible conference spaces
In the Horyzont conference hall, the panels make it easier to control AV and room settings based on the selected room configuration.
Because the room can be divided into different setups, the control interface needs to follow that logic. The ProDVX panels help make this possible by clearly reflecting the selected room configuration and giving users direct access to the settings they need for that situation.

Why SimpleAV chose ProDVX

Across the Hotele Nadmorskie Group, more than 300 touch panels are used as control interfaces. At Hotel Senator, the panels support two different applications: an external hotel application in the more high-end guest rooms and the Atlona Velocity control interface in the Horyzont conference hall.
The project therefore required a professional hardware platform that could support different software environments, operate reliably throughout daily hotel use and remain flexible for future developments.
One platform for two different control applications
The open operating system of the ProDVX panels allows the integrator to install the third-party applications required for both solutions.
This meant that the same panel platform could be used for guest room control as well as conference room AV control, without tying the hotel group to one specific software application or ecosystem.
Using one consistent hardware platform also helped simplify the deployment across a large number of installations, while still allowing each panel to be configured for its specific environment and purpose.
Designed for professional 24/7 use
The panels are designed for continuous 24/7 operation, making them suitable for a hotel environment where the control interfaces need to remain available throughout the day and night.
This was particularly important for a large-scale deployment. A consistent professional hardware platform helps support dependable daily operation across the different rooms and applications.
Custom integration into the hotel interior
The panels were custom-mounted on the walls using specially designed frames. This allowed the technology to blend naturally into the hotel interior, rather than appearing as a separate technical device.
The result is an elegant and cohesive appearance that complements both the hotel’s high-end guest rooms and the Horyzont conference hall.
