What is provisioning?

Provisioning refers to the process of preparing and configuring devices for use within a network or system. This includes setting up operating parameters, network configurations, security settings, and application installations. Automated provisioning ensures devices are set up consistently, reducing downtime and administrative burden. Key Features of ProMGR Provisioning

Centralised Configuration Management

ProMGR allows users to create, edit, and deploy configuration files on our portal that generates a unique code linked to that configuration. This ensures that device settings, network preferences, and operational modes remain consistent across all deployments.

Batch Device Activation

ProMGR simplifies bulk deployment by generating activation codes linked to specific provisioning profiles. Each profile contains settings, such as Wi-Fi credentials, language, time zone, and application installation preferences.

Device Group Management

Organise devices into groups for faster configuration and monitoring. Assign provisioning profiles to these groups for seamless bulk operations and management.

Secure and Scalable Deployments

How to Provision Devices with ProMGR

Provisioning devices with ProMGR is a straightforward process designed to streamline deployments. Here are the steps:

Step 1: Create a Configuration File

Navigate to the Configurations section in the ProMGR portal.
Add new configurations or edit existing ones to set device-specific parameters like network, permissions, and operational modes.

Step 2: Define a Provisioning Profile

Go to the Provisioning section and create a new profile.
Select deployment methods, such as NFC or pre-installed firmware, and choose configurations for auto-import to streamline the process.

Step 3: Generate Activation Codes

Activation codes link profiles to each device for easy setup. These remain valid even when provisioning profiles are updated.

Step 4: Deploy Devices using the chosen method

For NFC provisioning use an NFC-enabled device with the ProMGR NFC Deployer app to write provisioning profiles to NFC tags, then tap the tag on the target device to apply the settings. Please note that this method is only available for the ProDVX APPC-10SLBe devices;
For manual provisioning, enter the activation code directly on the device;
For remote provisioning, push configurations via ProMGR Cloud to configure devices without physical access. Please note that a paid license is required for ProMGR Cloud.

Supported Devices

ProMGR provisioning is compatible with ProDVX devices running firmware A24 or later. NFC provisioning is supported on the APPC-10SLBe. Additionally, R23 and S-Series devices offer exclusive provisioning benefits, including waived activation fee for ProMGR Kiosk licenses.
