From our Technical Director
At ProDVX, we are always looking for ways to bring the best technology and security to our customers. I’m proud to share that we have now rolled out Android 13 across our R23 and S-series devices. Our GMS-certified devices received the update first via OTA, and all other models are now available for download. New production batches will also ship with Android 13 pre-installed, giving customers the latest ProDVX Android experience right out of the box.
Following Google’s release plan, Android 13 brings the latest security patches, keeping devices protected against modern threats. At ProDVX, we follow a future-ready n-2 update strategy, ensuring devices remain current with the most relevant Android versions. Running the very latest (consumer) Android versions is generally not recommended in B2B environments, due to potential instability and the need for frequent updates. To complement this, our ProSecure programme extends support for each release with ongoing security updates and CVE patches. This approach allows older hardware or legacy software applications to stay secure and reliable, even if they aren’t running the very latest firmware version.
Beyond security, this update introduces a number of new features. The startup wizard is now more complete and less intrusive, helping users get devices up and running more efficiently. Besides the widely used and extremely useful provisioning features, ProMGR also adds more powerful functions, including cloud-based remote screenshot overview and improved security options, so IT teams can monitor displays across the field in real time and interact remotely with the ProDVX API.
Android 13 is an important step forward, but it’s not the last. Our teams are already working in the ProDVX laboratories on the next update, continuing our commitment to innovation, security, and long-term support. With ProDVX, businesses can trust that their solutions are always evolving to meet today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities.
